Amaranth is propagated by seeds that are so small that they are often sown at room conditions on the surface of moist soil, covering the container with glass on top to create high humidity.
Seeds are very demanding on this factor (sometimes they wet the soil with a spray gun).
The site for amaranth should be well lit and drained, the soil should be light and nutritious, with enough lime.
By and large, amaranth is completely unpretentious, but what it does not tolerate is low temperatures and too much moisture in the soil.
For seedlings, amaranth can be sown in the second half of March.
Sowing takes place almost similarly to open ground: seeds are placed in the grooves to a depth of 2 cm, slightly added dropwise and the container is placed in a warm place. A sprayer is used as irrigation.
Amaranth and cumin have a good effect on neighbors in the garden - they improve the physical properties and structure of the soil, increase the availability of nutrients.
Tomatoes, basil, borage, spinach contain the biologically active substance saponin, which promotes the growth and development of plants.
The leaves grow, and weeds do not grow under their thick cover. The growing season of amaranth lasts approximately 120 days.
