If you want to buy a new wardrobe, then you probably need to get rid of an old one first - and it's not always easy!

Some old wardrobes can be even bigger than your door frame, so you can't easily take it away.

If that's your case, then there are still a few things you can do.

Disassemble if Possible

Check if the wardrobe can be disassembled.

Removing doors, shelves, and other components might make it easier to maneuver through the door frame.

Tilt and Turn Technique

Tilt the wardrobe at an angle, positioning it diagonally.

This might help to reduce its overall width and facilitate movement through the door.

Maneuvering Around Corners

If the wardrobe has legs or is on wheels, try lifting one side while a helper guides it around corners.

This can make it easier to navigate through tight spaces.

Protective Covering

Wrap the wardrobe in protective materials like blankets or bubble wrap.

This not only safeguards the furniture but can also prevent it from getting stuck on the door frame.

Professional Furniture Removal

Consider hiring professional furniture removal services.

These experts are skilled in handling large and cumbersome items, ensuring a safe and efficient removal process.

Window Removal

In extreme cases, where the wardrobe simply won't fit through the door, removing a window might be an option.

Consult with professionals to ensure this is done safely and adheres to building codes.

Donation or Sale

If the wardrobe is in good condition, consider donating it to a local charity or selling it.

This not only helps someone in need but also eliminates the need for complex removal.

Check Staircases

If the wardrobe needs to go downstairs, assess whether it can be safely navigated through the staircase.

Sometimes, removing a handrail temporarily might provide the necessary space.
