Light-colored floors can look absolutely amazing, but they require regular cleaning, or they will become dirty quickly.
On rainy days, you can leave dirty footprints almost immediately, and it's usually better to clean them as soon as possible.
Here are a few tips on cleaning light floors.
Get a bucket, warm water, a mild detergent or floor cleaner, and a clean mop or microfiber cloth.
Fill the bucket with warm water and add a small amount of the mild detergent or floor cleaner.
Follow the instructions on the cleaner's label to ensure proper dilution.
Dip the mop or cloth into the cleaning solution, making sure it is damp but not soaking wet.
Locate the dirty footprints on the floor and focus on cleaning those areas specifically.
Use the damp mop or cloth to gently scrub the footprints in a circular motion.
Apply a bit of pressure if needed, but be careful not to damage or scratch the floor.
Rinse the mop or cloth in the bucket frequently to remove dirt and prevent spreading it around.
After scrubbing, use a clean and dry microfiber cloth or mop to wipe away any excess moisture from the floor.
This helps prevent slipping and promotes faster drying.
Give the floor some time to air dry naturally.
Avoid walking on the wet areas until they are completely dry to prevent new dirt from being tracked onto the floor.
Once the floor is dry, inspect the cleaned footprints.
If any traces remain, you may need to repeat the cleaning process or try a different cleaning method or product.
