If you have to glue your furniture, then you better do it carefully – it can be pretty hard to get rid of glue stains.
But even if you already have these stains, you can get rid of them, or at least make them less noticeable.
Here are a few tips that might help you.
Use a flat tool, like a butter knife, to gently scrape off any excess glue from the furniture surface.
Mix warm water with a bit of dish soap. Dampen a cloth in this soapy water and gently rub the glued area.
If the glue persists, make a solution of equal parts water and vinegar.
Dab a cloth into the solution and continue rubbing the glue.
Apply a small amount of cooking oil or cooking spray on the glued area.
Let it sit for a few minutes, then wipe away the glue.
If the glue is still there, try rubbing alcohol.
Dampen a cloth with rubbing alcohol and gently rub the glued spot.
For stubborn glue, use a plastic scraper to carefully scrape it off. Avoid using metal as it can scratch the furniture.
If the glue is dried, use a hairdryer to warm it up. Once warmed, gently scrape off the softened glue.
Consider using a commercial adhesive remover.
Follow the product instructions carefully and test on a small, inconspicuous area first.
Be patient and repeat the steps as needed. It may take a few tries to completely remove the glue.
After removing the glue, clean the area with a damp cloth to get rid of any residue from the cleaning process.
