It's always easier to maintain things clean than to actually clean them - it takes way less time and energy.

While some types of dirt and spots can't be ignored, there are still a few things oyu can do to maintain your floors nice and clean.

Let's learn more about these tips to save your time and energy for something more fun than cleaning!

Regular Sweeping or Vacuuming

Use a broom or vacuum cleaner to pick up dust, dirt, and crumbs from the floor. Do this at least once a week, or more often in high-traffic areas.

Mopping

After sweeping or vacuuming, mop the floor with a bucket of soapy water or a floor cleaner. This helps remove stains and keeps your floor looking fresh.

Wipe Spills Quickly

If something spills on the floor, clean it up right away. This prevents stains and sticky spots.

Use Doormats

Place doormats at the entrances to your home to trap dirt and moisture from shoes. This keeps dirt from spreading throughout the house.

Remove Shoes

Ask people to take off their shoes when they enter your home. Shoes can track in a lot of dirt and germs from outside.

Pet Care

If you have pets, clean up their fur regularly. Use a vacuum cleaner designed for pet hair if needed.

Rugs and Mats

Use rugs or mats in high-traffic areas or under dining tables to protect the floor. These can be easier to clean than the entire floor.

Sweep Before Mopping

Before mopping, make sure to sweep or vacuum to remove loose dirt. Mopping with dirt on the floor just spreads it around.

Proper Cleaning Products

Use cleaning products that are safe for your type of flooring. For example, wood floors may require a different cleaner than tile floors.
