Some stubborn stains are hard to get rid of on their own, but it's even harder when you try to clean textured surfaces.

For instance, light-colored laminated floors can have textures surfaces that collect and keep the dirt.

Here are a few tips on how to fix that problem without damaging your floors.

Soft Cloth or Sponge

Choose a soft cloth or sponge to prevent scratches on the textured surface.

Fill a bucket with warm water. Warm water is effective in loosening stains without damaging the laminate.

Add a few drops of mild dish soap to the warm water. Dish soap is gentle yet effective in breaking down stains.

White Vinegar (Optional)

For tougher stains, mix a cup of white vinegar with a cup of warm water. Vinegar acts as a natural cleaner and deodorizer.

Baking Soda (Optional)

Create a paste using baking soda and a small amount of water for an extra cleaning boost.

Prepare the Cleaning Solution

In the bucket, mix warm water with a few drops of mild dish soap. For tougher stains, add white vinegar to the mix.

Dip the soft cloth or sponge into the cleaning solution. Wring out excess water to prevent over-saturation of the floor.

Gently Scrub the Stain

Gently scrub the stained area with the damp cloth or sponge. Use circular motions and apply moderate pressure.

Avoid excessive force to prevent damage to the textured surface.

For persistent stains, let the cleaning solution sit on the stain for a few minutes. This allows the solution to penetrate and break down the stain.

Rinse with Clean Water

Wipe the cleaned area with a clean, damp cloth to remove any soap or vinegar residue.

If vinegar was used, consider following up with a water rinse to eliminate any lingering smell.

Dry the Floor

After cleaning, thoroughly dry the floor. Excess moisture can damage the laminate, so ensure it's completely dry.
