Mushrooms are made up of a lot of water, which can quickly become slimy and moldy. However, if you follow some measures, you can extend their shelf life.

If you bought mushrooms in a package, place it in the refrigerator. However, make sure that the container is ventilated. Therefore, the mushrooms will stay fresh and without mucus longer.

If packaging is not available, place whole mushrooms in a paper bag. Such packaging will absorb excess moisture and pass oxygen to the product.

Never wash mushrooms before storing. Unwashed, whole mushrooms in proper packaging can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
