Domestic cats can't always understand whether they should eat some food or not, especially if it smells good.

Their bodies often can't naturally digest some products they couldn't get naturally.

Therefore, even if your cat asks you for these foods, you shouldn't feed them with that!

Onions and garlic

Onions and garlic, whether raw, cooked, or in powdered form, contain compounds that can damage a cat's red blood cells, leading to anemia.

Symptoms may include weakness, lethargy, and pale gums.

Grapes and raisins

Grapes and raisins can be highly toxic to cats, potentially causing kidney failure.

Even a small amount can be harmful, leading to symptoms like vomiting, diarrhea, decreased appetite, and decreased urine output.

Dairy products

While cats may enjoy milk, cheese, or other dairy products, many cats are lactose intolerant.

They lack the necessary enzyme to break down lactose, the sugar found in milk.

Consuming dairy can result in digestive upset, including diarrhea, vomiting, and stomach discomfort.

Caffeine

Beverages containing caffeine, such as coffee, tea, energy drinks, or even certain sodas, should be kept away from cats.

Caffeine can stimulate their nervous system and lead to symptoms like restlessness, rapid breathing, heart palpitations, tremors, and in severe cases, even seizures.

Bones

While cats are carnivores and enjoy chewing on bones, it's best to avoid giving them bones from poultry, fish, or other animals.

Bones can easily splinter and cause choking hazards, mouth or throat injuries, or blockages in the digestive tract.

Previously, we talked about lemurs.
