You may have noticed that your cat loves drinking from your cup, even when its water bowl is full.

Cats can be extremely curious, so they often do funny, strange or even annoying things to explore the world around them.

There are few reasons of why these animals prefer to drink from their owners' cups.

Curiosity

Cats are naturally curious animals, and they are intrigued by new and unfamiliar things. When they see a cup with liquid in it, they may be drawn to investigate and explore it, including attempting to drink from it.

Mimicking Behavior

Cats like to imitate human behavior, especially if they observe their owners doing something. If they see their human drinking from a cup, they might be inclined to imitate the action, thinking that it is something desirable or interesting.

Attracted by the Scent

The liquid in the cup may have a scent that attracts the cat. Cats have a keen sense of smell, and certain beverages like tea or broth can have aromas that pique their interest.

Seeking Attention

Cats are social animals and often seek interaction and attention from their human companions. Drinking from a person's cup may be a way for them to engage with their owner and draw attention to themselves.

Cool or Refreshing

Though cats love warmth, they are known to seek out cool or refreshing spots during hot weather. If the liquid in the cup is cold or contains ice cubes, the cat may be attracted to it as a source of refreshment.
