If you have a few plants that require a hot and humid climate, then you probably need a greenhouse.
Luckily, you don't have to build a big and expensive one – it's often enough just to make a small and simple one!
Here's how you can do it.
Choose a suitable location
Find an area in your garden that receives plenty of sunlight throughout the day.
This will help provide the warmth and light needed for your plants inside the greenhouse.
Decide on the size
Determine how big you want your greenhouse to be based on the available space and the number of plants you want to grow.
Remember to leave enough room for you to move around comfortably.
Gather materials
Collect the materials you'll need, such as PVC pipes or wooden planks for the frame, transparent plastic or greenhouse film for covering, and sturdy stakes or anchors to secure the structure.
Build the frame
Construct the frame by connecting the PVC pipes or wooden planks to form the shape of your greenhouse.
Make sure it's sturdy and can withstand wind and weather conditions.
Cover the frame
Drape the transparent plastic or greenhouse film over the frame, ensuring it covers all sides.
Secure it tightly using clips, staples, or ties, so it doesn't get blown away by the wind.
Ventilation
Create ventilation openings by leaving gaps or installing vents in the structure.
This will allow fresh air to circulate and prevent overheating.
Door and access
Install a door or opening that allows you to enter and exit the greenhouse easily.
You can use a zippered plastic sheet or a hinged door depending on your preference and the materials available.
Arrange plants
Once the greenhouse is set up, arrange your plants inside.
Consider using shelves or benches to maximize space and ensure adequate sunlight reaches all plants.
Monitor temperature and humidity
Keep an eye on the temperature and humidity levels inside the greenhouse.
Open the vents or door if it gets too hot, and mist the plants if the humidity is low.
