Shallots differ significantly in taste from regular onions.
It is juicier, without the pungent smell of onions, without bitterness and has a sweetish note in taste.
When cooking, shallots do not interfere with the taste and aroma of other products.
Where and how to plant shallots
First of all, the plant needs enough sunlight and moderately moist soil.
Plant onions in early spring or late fall. Before planting, you need to cut off the neck of the bulb and place it in warm water for a couple of days.
Try to plant the bulbs in furrows 5 to 7 cm deep.
Maintain a distance between onion beds of about 25 cm.
After planting, water the soil generously with warm water.
Water shallot beds after planting at least once every couple of days.
When the greens sprout, reduce watering to twice a week.
