Beet is a cold-resistant crop, so it is not afraid of either northern winds or drafts.
Where beets like to grow
Since this is a heat-loving plant, beets love a well-lit place when planted. The site should be loose and not shaded.
Most of all, beets love fertile loose soils - peat bogs, medium loamy chernozems of slightly alkaline or neutral reaction - the pH should be at least 5 and not higher than 8 units. In acidic or too alkaline soil, beets get sick.
Plant care
Watering, loosening and mandatory thinning are the main agrotechnical methods of growing beets. The vegetable is watered once every 2-3 days, the next day the earth is shallowly loosened, trying not to damage the roots. If the beds were fertilized before planting, it is not necessary to additionally feed the beets.
