Aeonium belongs to the subtropical plants of the Crassulaceae family. It occurs naturally in the Canary Islands, Madeira, Morocco and East Africa. This is a very interesting succulent from the rough family with woody branching stems.
What pot is needed for Aeonium
It is better to choose a pot deep and not very wide, since aeoniums have powerful roots. Reproduction of the aeonium is carried out by cuttings, apical rosette, rarely seeds. The apical rosettes of the leaves are separated, and then added dropwise to the ground.
How to plant Aeonium
It is necessary to plant aeonium in light, permeable, loose soil. I always add pieces of charcoal to the soil, which protects against diseases. Drainage required. The pot should be small so that the soil can dry out.
How often to water the Aeonium
It is not necessary to water the aeonium too often, but at the same time not infrequently. Optimal watering frequency: about 1 time per week in summer and 1 time per 2-3 weeks in winter.
Fertilizer
Aeonium is fed during the growth period once a month with mineral and organic fertilizers.
When to transplant Aeonium
While the bush is young, it is transplanted systematically once a year. At the same time, an adult plant is not transplanted so often, about 1 time in 2 or 3 years, after the root system no longer fits into a new container.
