Photos on walls are classic home decor elements that are loved by many, because they actually show your history and character.

Meanwhile, not all photos actually look good together, because of their colors and sizes, so you should choose them carefully.

Here are a few tips on how to pick photos perfectly and create beautiful collages.

Pick a Theme or Color Scheme

Choose photos that have a common theme or color. This could be pictures from a specific event, a color you like, or a particular style.

Having a theme helps your collage look organized.

Mix Sizes and Shapes

Use a variety of photo sizes and shapes. Some can be big, others small, and some could be square or rectangular.

Mixing it up adds visual interest.

Consider Black and White

If your photos are in color, consider converting some to black and white.

This can make your collage look more unified, especially if there are various colors in the original photos.

Create a Centerpiece

Choose one or two photos to be the main focus.

These could be larger or placed in the center. Build the rest of your collage around them.

Balance the Layout

Spread out photos evenly. Don't put all the big ones on one side or all the small ones in the middle.

Balance makes the collage more visually appealing.

Use Frames with Similar Colors

If you're using frames, try to keep them in similar colors or styles.

This helps tie the photos together and makes the collage look more cohesive.

Tell a Story

Arrange your photos to tell a story or follow a timeline. It could be a story of an event, a trip, or just a collection of happy memories.

Test the Arrangement

Before putting everything on the wall, lay out your photos on the floor or a table.

This way, you can see how they look together and make adjustments before committing to the arrangement on the wall.
