Cashmere sweaters do not need to be dry cleaned, contrary to popular belief. Let's figure out how to properly care for cashmere.
How often can you wash a wool sweater
In order not to damage the structure of the threads, do not wash the product after each wear.
If you do not wear wool sweaters often, wash them as little as possible.
How to wash a wool sweater
The type of wool does not matter in care. There is a universal set of rules for wool clothing:
Manually
This is the safest way to cleanse:
- Fill a basin with cool water and add a special wool powder or gel.
- Gently swirl the sweater in the water for 30 seconds and leave for half an hour.
- Drain the dirty water and rinse the sweater with clean water.
Washing machine
- To protect the sweater during washing, place it in a special protective bag.
- Select the delicate wash cycle.
- Check the water temperature. It should be cold.
- Take the sweater out of the washing machine drum immediately to wrinkle it.
How to dry a wool sweater
- Do not use dryer and spin.
- Gently squeeze out the water by rolling the sweater into a ball.
- Then press the sweater on top with a towel to absorb moisture and leave to dry on the floor.
Measure your sweater’s size before washing. If you do something wrong, your sweater will become smaller.
