A baseboard is an important element of your house that brings together different elements of your interior.

Unfortunately, this element can easily come off, especially when you're careless, or you have pets or little kids.

Here are a few things you can do to fix it.

Remove any loose nails or screws

If there are any nails or screws sticking out or not holding the baseboard securely, carefully remove them using a hammer or screwdriver.

Clean the area

Clean the wall and the back of the baseboard to remove any dust, dirt, or old adhesive.

This will help ensure a better bond when you fix the baseboard.

Apply adhesive

Apply a strong adhesive, such as construction adhesive or wood glue, to the back of the baseboard.

Make sure to apply it evenly and cover the entire surface that will contact the wall.

Press the baseboard against the wall

Carefully press the baseboard back into place against the wall.

Ensure that it aligns properly with the surrounding baseboards or corners.

Secure the baseboard

To hold the baseboard in place while the adhesive dries, use clamps or place heavy objects against it.

This will help create a strong bond.

Wipe off excess adhesive

If any adhesive squeezes out from the edges of the baseboard, wipe it off using a damp cloth or sponge before it dries.

Let it dry

Allow the adhesive to dry completely according to the instructions provided by the manufacturer.

This may take a few hours or overnight.

Finishing touches

Once the adhesive is fully dry, remove any clamps or heavy objects and inspect the baseboard.

If needed, touch up the paint or stain to match the surrounding area.

Monitor for stability

Keep an eye on the baseboard to ensure it remains securely attached to the wall.

If you notice any further issues or loosening, repeat the steps or seek professional assistance.
