If you dust regularly, then you know that cleaning shelves is way easier than dusting all the decorations on them.

To minimize your work, you can choose decorations that don't absorb dust that quickly.

But how to do so?

Smooth Surfaces

Opt for decorations with smooth surfaces, as they tend to collect less dust compared to textured or intricate designs.

Smooth surfaces can be easily wiped clean with a damp cloth, reducing the chances of dust settling and accumulating.

Minimal Upholstery

Decorative items with minimal or no upholstery, such as metal, glass, or ceramic pieces, are less likely to trap dust.

Avoid decorations with heavy fabric drapes, excessive frills, or intricate fabric details that can become dust magnets.

Non-Porous Materials

Choose decorations made from non-porous materials that do not absorb dust easily.

Materials like glass, metal, plastic, or sealed wood are less prone to dust accumulation and can be easily wiped or dusted clean.

Vertical Decor

Opt for wall-mounted decorations or artwork that don't protrude too much from the wall.

Hanging decorative items reduce the surface area for dust to settle on, making them easier to clean.

Avoid Fringed or Tasseled Decor

Decorations with fringes, tassels, or intricate hanging elements tend to attract and trap dust.

Choosing simpler designs or decorations without these features can help minimize dust accumulation.
