Leather clothing should never be stored folded, as this can damage the integrity of the material and lead to premature aging of the leather.
How to properly store leather clothes and shoes
Instead, place leather clothing on padded hangers and store it in a dry place with air circulation.
Do not pack leather in sealed, airtight cases. The leather needs air and low or medium humidity levels.
Products should be hung on hangers according to the size of the clothing; small or, conversely, large hangers are equally harmful to leather clothes.
Do not hang several items on one hanger, as they will become wrinkled.
To avoid drying out and discoloration, it is better to store outerwear in a shaded place or in special covers.
Additionally, store leather clothing or accessories in a cool, dry place to protect them from mildew and moisture.
Otherwise, they will lose their appearance and deteriorate.
For shoes and bags, store them in fabric or cardboard packaging.
Do not store leather clothing or accessories where there is direct sunlight.
The most suitable place is a closet or chest of drawers that can be closed.
Under no circumstances should leather products be washed in a washing machine.
If there is dirt on the material, gently wipe the surface with a slightly damp soft cloth and wait until it is completely dry before returning the item to the closet.
If you can’t clean leather clothes yourself, use dry cleaning services.
