If you enjoy cooking and baking, then you can discover a whole new world of recipes you can try out at home.
While being extremely delicious, tiramisu isn't that hard to cook – so you can easily make it at home!
Here is how you can cook this amazing dessert at home.
Gather your ingredients
You will need ladyfinger cookies, strong coffee (cooled), cocoa powder, eggs, sugar, mascarpone cheese, and vanilla extract.
Make the cream mixture
Separate the egg yolks from the whites. In a bowl, whisk the egg yolks with sugar until they become creamy.
Add the mascarpone cheese and vanilla extract. Mix well until smooth.
Beat the egg whites
In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until they become stiff.
This means they should have a fluffy texture and form peaks when you lift the beaters.
Combine the cream and egg whites
Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the cream mixture.
Mix them together carefully to keep the mixture light and fluffy.
Prepare the ladyfingers
Dip each ladyfinger cookie into the cooled coffee.
Make sure to coat both sides but don't soak them for too long, or they will become too soggy.
Layer the tiramisu
Place a layer of soaked ladyfingers in a dish. Spread a layer of the cream mixture on top.
Repeat this process, alternating layers until you run out of ingredients.
The final layer should be the cream.
Dust with cocoa powder
Sift cocoa powder over the top of the tiramisu. This gives it a nice finishing touch and adds flavor.
Chill and set
Cover the tiramisu with plastic wrap and refrigerate it for at least 4 hours or overnight.
This allows the flavors to blend together and the dessert to set properly.
Serve and enjoy
Once chilled, cut the tiramisu into slices and serve it.
It's a delicious treat that can be enjoyed on its own or with a cup of coffee.
