Scientists from Uppsala University and other institutions researched five similar types of larks in Africa.

They examined DNA from old museum samples and found nine different groups that have been separate for up to five million years.

These findings suggest a more complex relationship than previously thought.

More about the discovery

The researchers propose splitting the two species into seven new ones.

They also found that Ash's Lark and the Somali Lark are the same species.

The newly identified species have limited information, and the study provides new insights into their songs and behaviors.

One of the researchers got a chance to study a not-so-well-known lark species in Zambia and found some interesting ways it displays itself.

The same group of researchers also did another study on more than 100 lark species.

They found that similar looks among species can happen because of similar living conditions, not necessarily because they are closely related.

Some closely related species may look very different from each other.

Previously, we talked about animals playing dead.
