Ginger often becomes dry or moldy.
For proper storage, it is important to know just a few rules.
Store ginger root in the refrigerator. This is the best place to keep vegetables fresh.
In the refrigerator, conditions are quite suitable for ginger - low temperature and low humidity.
Before placing ginger on the refrigerator shelf, the root must be wrapped in cling film.
This must be done to prevent air from getting inside, which prevents the fruit from drying out.
Before sending the root for storage, it must be inspected for damaged areas.
Remove bad parts of the root in advance.
The spine can also be wrapped in paper or natural fabric for storage.
Fresh ginger can be stored in the refrigerator for at least 3 weeks.
To prolong the freshness of the root, you can make jam from ginger root.
Or simply cover the root with sugar in a glass jar. Sugar is a natural preservative.
Also, if you peeled the ginger root but didn't use all of it, you can chop it up, put it in a jar and cover it with white wine or cold water, then put it in the refrigerator.
In this form, ginger can be stored for one month.
Alternatively, ginger can be frozen. However, it is better to pack it in 2-3 bags so that the root does not spread its smell in the freezer.
