Strawberries are a popular berry in summer. In this article, we will talk about proper cleaning.
Just take the berries and wash them in the sink, in a colander or in your hands, gently pouring over it with cold tap water for 30 seconds. You need to keep strawberries under running water until they become clean.
If the strawberries are very dirty, soak them in water for a few minutes, all the dirt and sand will settle to the bottom, and then the berries should be washed again under running water.
A mixture of vinegar and water is also a great natural strawberry peeler. Simply immerse the berry in a bowl with two ingredients (the ratio should be half a glass of water to half a glass of vinegar) for a maximum of 5 minutes, and then rinse under running water.
The quickest and most common way to wash strawberries is to soak them in a baking soda solution for five minutes. After soaking, it is recommended to rinse the strawberries under running water to remove soda residue.
Strawberries will stay fresh when dry and cold, and any addition of moisture will soften the berries and encourage mold growth. Therefore, wash only those strawberries that you plan to eat or cook right away.
