To spoil the pilaf, you need to choose the wrong rice, which will stick together by the end of cooking, or just pickle the finished dish.

But unlike the situation when the cereal has stuck together, excess salt can still be removed from the pilaf using the following culinary tricks.

If you over-salted meat and vegetables

This does not matter, because you can just pour the ingredients with water and put them out a little, but without adding salt, besides, after adding cereals, rice will take over the excess salt.

There are few options here. The easiest way would be to add another portion of not quite ready rice. In order not to mess with meat and vegetable additives, just set aside some of the spoiled cereals.

You can also add a bag of instant rice for 15-20 minutes.

More complex options

If there are no stocks of cereals, take 3-4 peeled tubers of raw potatoes, put them in rice for 10-15 minutes, then take them out and throw them away. Potatoes will absorb excess salt.

There is a similar option with white cabbage, but this is only if you are not afraid of the presence of its smell in the pilaf.

Lemon juice or cranberry berries, lingonberries and even cherries can somewhat muffle excess salt if added to the dish just before serving.

You can also hide the mistake with additives from carrots, dried apricots or raisins.
