Hummus is a popular type of chickpea sauce with spices and tahini paste. It is used as an addition to both appetizers and main courses. Hummus is served with vegetables, meat, bread, pickles.

If you have extra hummus left after a party or cooking, you can freeze it.

How to freeze hummus correctly

You can put store-bought or homemade hummus in the freezer. However, store-bought sauce freezes more evenly because it has added preservatives.

To freeze the product, use an airtight, plastic container. Before placing the hummus in the container, you can transfer it to a freezer bag.
To keep track of the expiration date, write the date of freezing and the name on the lid.

The maximum time for freezing hummus is 4 months. After this period, the taste or texture may change.
