Women often face sexism.
According to a study published in the journal Social Psychological and Personality Science, women who experience protective paternalism in relationships perceive their partners as less reliable.
Protective paternalism is the belief that men are obliged to protect women, as well as provide for them financially, since women are seen as needing care and help.
In this case, women are seen as caring and those who keep the house clean and cozy.
In addition, according to this belief, women are obliged to satisfy the emotional needs of men.
However, the study showed that women who are in such a role in relationships experience greater psychological stress and less satisfaction with these relationships.
They also perceived their partners as less reliable and more patronizing.
