Almost every person has experienced a stream of disturbing or unpleasant thoughts in their head. This article will explain why this happens and what can be done about it.
According to the American Psychological Association, rumination is “obsessive thinking involving excessive, repetitive thoughts about topics that interfere with other forms of mental activity.”
This is an obsessive type of thinking, when the same thoughts, mostly negative, appear in a person’s head, crowding out other mental activity. This type of thinking is natural and inherent in each of us, so anyone can fall into the trap of rumination.
Sleep anxiety is anxious thoughts that may occur before you go to bed, particularly those related to worry, nervousness, and worries. During the day, the brain is busy solving dozens of tasks, but at night it often has nothing to do with itself, as a result of which it clings to any disturbing emotions and thoughts.
Write down your thoughts in detail. Arrange your thoughts in a new order, read them from right to left, make some funny change. Use powerful affirmations to express thoughts or control them: for example, I will do what I can, I will get help, I will manage.
Lower your shoulders to the stop, then straighten along the body and relax your arms - in turn. Exhale as you relax your chest, and then relax your legs, starting at your hips and working your way down. Then, within 10 seconds, try to disconnect from disturbing thoughts and “clear” your mind.
