Cosmea can be sown in the spring, and use the winter sowing method. The terms for sowing the plant coincide with the standard terms for sowing medium-cold-resistant summers. Cosmees are sown in early May or April, when the risk of persistent night frosts disappears, but without waiting for the return frosts to completely disappear.
Where is the best place to plant cosmos
This plant does well in the shade, but will bloom more luxuriantly in a sunny location. Cosmea forms rather large bushes up to 150 cm high, so it can become a backdrop for undersized plants or cover unsightly corners of your site.
How to properly plant cosmos
Seeds are scattered on the surface of the soil in nests, three or four pieces every 30-40 cm and lightly slap them with the palm of your hand so that the embedment depth is no more than one centimeter. The flowering of cosmea with seedless sowing begins in July-early August. You can sow cosmea in open ground in late autumn, before winter.
