If you have a nice patio or a relaxation zone in your garden, then you probably have comfortable and good-looking furniture there.

You don't use it daily, but you shouldn't always leave it outdoors, because weather and humidity can damage your furniture quickly.

Here are some examples of furniture you shouldn't leave outside for a long time.

Wooden Furniture

Wood can rot, warp, or become discolored when exposed to rain and sun for a long time.

It's best to keep wooden furniture in a sheltered area or use covers to protect it.

Fabric Cushions

Cushions made of fabric can get wet and moldy if left outside. Store them in a dry place or use cushion storage bags.

Metal Furniture with No Rust Protection

Metal furniture can rust when it gets wet. Look for furniture with rust-resistant coatings or paint it with outdoor metal paint to protect it.

Plastic Furniture Not Designed for Outdoors

Some plastic furniture can become brittle and break in the sun. Check if your plastic furniture is designed for outdoor use.

Glass Tables

Glass tables are fragile and can shatter if hit by hail or strong winds. Consider using tables with tempered glass or keep them in a covered area.

Wicker or Rattan Furniture

Natural wicker or rattan can get damaged by moisture. Opt for synthetic wicker for outdoor use, or protect natural wicker with furniture covers.

Electrical Furniture

Outdoor electrical furniture like speakers or heaters should not be left outside, as they can be damaged by rain or extreme temperatures.

To keep your garden furniture in good condition, you should know what materials can withstand outdoor conditions and which ones need protection or indoor storage.
