13.05.2024 21:21

Fear of rejection is a person’s irrational belief that no one will accept them for who they are.

How does the fear of being rejected manifest itself

Signs of rejection trauma are distrust of the world, fear of intimacy, dissatisfaction with oneself, denial of one’s needs and self-worth, feelings of inferiority, erased personal boundaries, inability to defend one’s opinion, feelings of shame, intrapersonal conflicts and fear of separation from parents.

Fear of abandonment usually results from abuse, neglect, or other traumatic events early in life.

In some cases, abandonment problems are a symptom of borderline personality disorder.

Where does relationship fear come from

Relationship fear represents the fear of emotional attachment.

Like most phobias, it originates in childhood, but the causes may also lie in unsuccessful relationships that ended in a painful breakup.

Psychological trauma cannot be ruled out either.
