Most cats are perfect natural hunters, so even if they don't need hunting their food, they still play and hunt their toys.
Meanwhile, other domestic cats don't hunt at all - they find neither use not pleasure in that.
But why are they so different?
They didn't learn these skills
Not all domestic cats have hunting skills because some cats didn't learn them or don't use them.
Just like people have different talents, cats have different abilities too.
Some cats may grow up in environments where they never had to hunt for their food because their owners provide it for them.
So, they might not develop strong hunting skills.
They live better lives
Other cats might have hunting skills, but they choose not to use them because they are well-fed and comfortable in their homes.
They may not feel the need to hunt for food.
Cats don't have to be hunters
It's also important to know that even if a cat doesn't have strong hunting skills, it doesn't make them any less of a wonderful pet.
Cats have many other qualities that make them great companions, like being loving and playful.
