According to scientists, modern lifestyles have deprived most people of the ability to physically connect with the Earth, and the result has been physiological dysfunction and disease.

Nevertheless, by finding ways to reconnect with the Earth, people can help their bodies heal.

What is grounding

Grounding techniques are a type of psychological relaxation that we use to reconnect with reality (present time and place) and/or our own body when we experience stress, psychological stimuli, or memory flashes.

Grounding is a set of techniques that can help calm a person here and now, in the moment.

They are useful when you are experiencing strong emotions, are depressed, or are experiencing panic attacks, nightmares, or flashbacks.

Physical and sensory grounding methods

Feel that you are standing firmly on the ground, support under your feet. Breathe.

Take a calm, shallow breath and exhale long.

You can try square breathing: inhale, hold your breath, exhale, hold your breath

Stomp them a few times, shifting your weight from one foot to the other, or wiggle your toes, paying attention to the sensations in your toes, feet, and ankles.

Press or rub your palms together, noticing pressure, temperature (warm or cool), and how it feels when touched.
